Introduction:
City life has both its advantages and disadvantages. But it has more amenities
than the village life does. Charms of modern life could be easily found here. A
great part of the development procedure involves city life. Still, the city
dwellers don’t get everything done accordingly. There are some loopholes in the
total development procedure of the cities.
Amenities
of city life: the main attraction of city life is the
systematic way of day-to-day life. The easy access to water supply,
electricity, and sewage system differentiates the life of cities more than that of
villages. The infrastructure of cities is quite unimaginable in villages.
Almost all headquarters are situated in the cities. People have to attend
important official works in the cities mostly. About all the accessories are
here in the city. Technological advancements are found in this life easily.
Modern facilities are within the reach of city people. Electronic media,
e-commerce, e-mail, etc. are accessible here. The modern era is the era of
information technology. We can communicate with the rest of the world very
easily in various ways. People are benefited from this village can’t
even think of innumerable vehicles plying on the roads/streets helping people to go to every nook and corner of cities in
the time of necessity.
Inconveniences:
There
are disadvantages to city life as well. Ours is a poor country. So, most of the
works of development are short-term. This result is that the impact of these
works has ultimately proven futile. In the long run, the people are to suffer.
Citing an example from the older part of Dhaka, it would be clear enough to
understand. The improper way of urbanization of those days now creates various difficulties
for the dwellers of the old part of Dhaka. Traffic jams are a daily
occurrence in the city. The condition of the cities in some respects is
deteriorating. High-rise buildings are creating a threat to cities. The
indiscriminate growth of the developers is trying to encourage people to buy
apartments. As a result, the want of the accessories of cities would cross the
limits which might cause havoc. People are facing problems like the load-shedding crisis of drinking water etc.
already what would happen if the crises go on increasing? The standard of life
is very high. People with little earnings suffer a lot. Fresh foods are no more
available now. Foods and vegetables are also contaminated by chemicals. The
cost of any simple thing is higher than the things of the villages.
Proper
planning of urbanization: the creation of suburbs would solve
the main cities of our country. Like developed countries, we must develop
infrastructure throughout the country. Some tube rail lines or similar ways of
communication systems should be implemented. Then, people won’t be interested
as before to live in the main cities. Avenues and streets should be made to
ease traffic. Our cities are untidy. Proper steps should be taken to keep
cities neat and tidy. A total long-termed plan should be passed. The haphazard
condition would be removed then. A proper earthquake code should be included in
this mega plan which could save people from would-be havoc. Buildings would
rise keeping a good ratio of land in between. Proper urbanization would make
city life easier.
Conclusion:
all people can have access to city life if the gap between cities and villages
can be minimized by a modern communication system. Implementation of good
communication is a need today. The charms of city life would be no longer
confined to cities only. Long termed proper planning would make cities problem
free.
