আছেন। আমিও আল্লাহর রহমতে ভালো আছি। আজকের ব্লগে ‘Tense বা কাল’ এর অন্যতম প্রকার
“Past Tense বা অতীত কালের প্রথম প্রকার Past Indefinite Tense / Simple Past Tense” নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা শেয়ার করবো। আশা করি আপনারা উপকৃত হবেন। তাহলে শুরু করা

Past Indefinite Tense এর পরিচয়ঃ অতীতে কোনো কাজ ঘটেছিল এবং তার ফল এখন আর বিদ্যমান
নেই এরুপ বুঝালে Past Indefinite Tense বা Simple Past Tense হয়।
বাংলায় চিনার উপায়ঃ বাংলা ক্রিয়ার শেষে ল,
লে, লাম, লেন, ত, তাম, তেন, ছিল, ছিলাম, ছিলে, ছিলেন ইত্যাদি থাকে।
গঠন প্রণালীঃ Subject + Verb এর Past
Form (V2) + Object / Extension.
উদাহরণঃ
They ate rice.
Habib arrived last night.
He went to the market.
উল্লেখ্য, বাক্যের Affirmative গঠন ছাড়াও
আরও কয়েকটি গঠন রয়েছে তা হলো – Negative, Interrogative এবং Negative-Interrogative।
নিম্নে এদের সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত বর্ণনা দেওয়া হলো –
Negative এ গঠনঃ
গঠনপ্রণালীঃ Subject + did + not + মূল
Verb এর Present Form + Object / Complement.
উদাহরণঃ
They did not eat rice.
Habib did not arrive last night.
He did not go to market.
Interrogative এ গঠনঃ
গঠনপ্রনালীঃ Did + subject + মূল Verb এর
Present Form + Object / Complement +?
Did they eat rice?
Did Habib arrive last night?
Did he go to the market?
Negative-Interrogative এর গঠনঃ
গঠনপ্রনালীঃ Did + subject + not + মূল
Verb এর Present Form + Object / Complement +?
উদাহরণঃ
Did they not eat rice?
Did Habib not arrive last night?
Did he not go to the market?
Past Indefinite Tense / Simple Past
Tense এর ব্যবহারঃ
⇘ বাক্যে ago, before, long since,
yesterday, last week, last month, last year ইত্যাদি থাকলে Past Indefinite Tense
ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন –
I went there yesterday.
It happened long ago.
Maha came to me last month.
⇘ অতীতের কোনো অভ্যাস বুঝাতে Past
Indefinite Tense ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন –
I always attended the class.
My father walked every morning.
⇘ অতীতে ঘটেছিল এরকম দুটি ঘটনার মধ্যে যেটি
আগে ঘটেছিল সেটি Past Perfect Tense এবং যেটি পরে ঘটেছিল সেটি Past Indefinite
Tense। যেমন –
I had eaten rice before you came.
They played football after we had come.
⇘ বিনয়, ভদ্রতা, সম্মতি, অনুমোদন ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ
করতে Past Indefinite Tense ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন –
Would you please give me some money?
Would you mind opening the door?
Could I get help from you, please?
⇘ Since এর পূর্ববর্তী Clause টি Present
Indefinite বা Present Perfect Tense হলে পরবর্তী Clause টি Past Indefinite Tense
হবে। যেমন –
Two years have passed since you met me
last.
It is many years since I met with you.
⇘ তবে Since এর পূর্ববর্তী Clause টি Past
Indefinite Tense হলে পরবর্তী Clause টি Past Perfect Tense হবে। যেমন –
It was long ago since I had told her
this story.
It was many years ago since we had
overcome the crisis.
