Birds of the Same Feather Flock Together: As a social being mankind wants
company, but he cannot mix with everybody easily. In making friends we choose
those who are like us mentally and we can integrate with them easily. If we watch closely, we find that mentally alike persons in society maintain the same
company. Thus in society, a religious man makes friends with religious men, a
good student with good students, a businessman with businessman, and a thief or
a cheat with thieves or cheats, we don’t see the application of the proverb in
our human society only, we also find it in the animal kingdom. In the animal
kingdom, we see that different species live differently from their own species.
This inner and outer consistency plays an essential role in the establishment
of a party. Forming a party makes an individual
strong. When a thief or pickpocket is caught red-handed, we see that the
people of his group come to help him. The same kind of behaviour we also find
in animal and bird kingdom. So the proverb is a true one that helps us to know
a whole group examining an individual.

চায় কিন্তু সে সবার সাথে সহজভাবে মিশতে পারে না। বন্ধুত্ব গড়তে আমরা তাদেরকেই বেছে
নেই যাদের মানসিকতা আমাদের মতো এবং তাদের সাথেই আমরা সহজভাবে মিশতে পারি। গভীরভাবে
প্রত্যক্ষ করলে আমরা দেখতে পাই, একই মানসিকতায় মিলসম্পন্ন লোকেরা সমাজে একই সঙ্গে বাস
করে। এভাবে সমাজে একজন ধার্মিক লোক ধার্মিক লোকদের সাথে বন্ধুত্ব বজায় রাখে, একজন ভালো
ছাত্র ভালো ছাত্রদের সাথে, একজন ব্যবসায়ী ব্যবসায়ীদের সাথে এবং একজন চোর বা প্রতারক,
চোর বা প্রতারকের সাথে বন্ধুত্ব বজায় রাখে। আমরা শুধু মানবসমাজেই এর ব্যবহার দেখি না,
প্রাণিকুলের মাঝেও দেখতে পাই। প্রাণিকুলের মাঝে বিভিন্ন প্রজাতির প্রাণী ভিন্ন ভিন্নভাবে
বাস করে তাদের প্রজাতির সাথে। এই বাহ্যিক ও অন্তঃস্থ মিলের বাঁধন দল গঠনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ
ভূমিকা পালন করে। এই দল গঠন স্বতন্ত্র ব্যক্তিকে শক্তিশালী করে। যখন কোনো চোর বা পকেটমার
ধরা পড়ে তখন তাকে সাহায্যের জন্য তার দলের লোকেরা এগিয়ে আসে। এই ধরনের ব্যবহার আমরা
প্রাণিকুল ও পাখিদের মাঝেও লক্ষ করি। তাই এ প্রবাদটি সত্য যে, যা আমাদের একটি দল সম্বন্ধে
ধারণা দেয় একজন স্বতন্ত্র ব্যক্তিকে বিচারের প্রেক্ষিতে।
