Hobby means an activity that one does for pleasure in leisure. There are many kinds of hobbies such as traveling, playing games, fishing, gardening, swimming, reading books, etc. Among them, my hobby reading books. It is the best hobby, I think. A good book is a living friend. It is our best friend. Friends may leave us but books never do that. The pleasure of reading books is different from the pleasures of traveling, playing, or hearing songs. Reading books enlightens us and ennobles our minds. We can acquire knowledge by reading books. A good book teaches us how to behave well with other people. It gives us the knowledge of morality, honesty, sympathy, punctuality, and so on. Through reading, we can enjoy and pass our leisure fruitfully because hereby we can know many unknown things. Sometimes, books make us laugh. When we read a book of amusement, our heart becomes refreshed and amused. When we read a sorrowful book, our heart becomes shocked and distressed. In this way, it breaks our monotonous and boring life. All of us should grow the habit of reading books as a hobby. Reading books as a hobby. Reading books is certainly a good habit.

My hobby is gardening. It means the cultivation of
flowers on a plot of land. The rainy season is the best time to lay out a
garden. During this season, the soil remains soft and it can easily be prepared
for putting up plants or sowing seeds. Whenever I get some time to spare, I set
about working in my garden. I dig the earth, make the soil loose, and make beds
of soil. Then I put up seedlings in them and sow seeds of flowers. I weed out
the grass, water the plants and put manure whenever necessary. I also put on
flowers. I also put up a beautiful hedge around my garden to protect it from
naughty children and straying cattle. When the flowers bloom, their beauty
enchants me and gives me pleasure. It also fills the air with fragrance. The
flower dealers also contact me and buy flowers. This gives me an earning. Thus
my hobby is a source of pleasure and income.
