Paragraph On Chikungunya
Chikungunya is a kind of disease that
has been identified in more than sixty countries worldwide in the continents of
Asia, Africa, Europe, and America. It is an RNS virus and a member of the genus
Alphavirus of the Togaviridae family. It can be transmitted to the human body from
the bites of female mosquitoes and can cause significant symptoms, such as
arthralgia, fever, myalgia (muscle pain), headache, nausea, fatigue, and rash.
As there is no antiviral drug currently available to treat chikungunya, the
primary cure is symptomatic treatment. It is important to encourage the patient
to maintain adequate fluid intake and to rest while their body fights the
viral infection. Any kind of disease is a threat to the human body. So it is
necessary to take steps for prevention. The least means of prevention of
chikungunya are overall mosquito control and cleanliness in the areas where
the disease is common.
