Paragraph on COVID-19 Vaccination in Bangladesh
The COVID-19 pandemic is a major global
health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced since World
War Two. Bangladesh has also come under the attack of this viral disease. The
first case of a Covid-19 patient was detected in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020.
Since then, a great number of people have been officially reported as COVID-19
infected with a significant number of deaths. After a tough battle against the
coronavirus, the vaccine brought a glimpse of hope for 2021 all over the world.
To combat the Covid-19, the government has taken various steps. The Covid-19
national vaccination campaign is one of them. Bangladesh began the
administration of Covid-19 vaccines on 27 January 2021 while mass vaccination
started on 7 February 2021. The Oxford- AstraZeneca vaccine was the Covid-19
vaccine that was used first in Bangladesh. Afterward, Bangladesh approved the
Russian Sputnik V and Chinese Sinopharm BIBP vaccines for use. Bangladesh has
also authorized the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine and to be distributed as
part of COVAX. Now in Bangladesh, the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is being used.
There is now real hope that vaccines will help end the pandemic. But until it
is over, we must stay vigilant and continue to protect our loved ones by
wearing masks, physically distancing, and washing our hands.
