 My Country / My Homeland (আমার দেশ / আমার জন্মভূমি)

The name of our country is Bangladesh. It became independent in 1971. Dhaka is its capital. Its land area is 1,47,570 square kilometers. But it has a big population. About 200 million people live here. Bangladesh is mainly an agricultural country. Its main crops are rice, jute, sugar cane, and tea. Jack fruits, mangoes, bananas, pineapples, guavas, and watermelons are the main fruits in our country. There are many rivers in our country. The main rivers are the Padma, the Meghna, the Jamuna, and the Karnaphuli. There are many varieties of fish in these rivers. We have many interesting places. The Sundarbans, Rangamati, and Cox’s Bazar beaches are the longest sea beach in the world. Bangladesh is a peaceful country. People from different communities live here in peace. I love my country very much.

আমাদের দেশের নাম বাংলাদেশ। ১৯৭১ সালে দেশটি স্বাধীন হয়। ঢাকা এর রাজধানী। এর ভূমির আয়তন ১,৪৭,৫৭০ বর্গ কিলোমিটার। কিন্তু এর রয়েছে বিপুল জনসংখ্যা। প্রায় ২০০ মিলিয়ন লোক এখানে বসবাস করে। বাংলাদেশ প্রধানত একটি কৃষিপ্রধান দেশ। ধান, পাট, ইক্ষু ও চা এর প্রধান প্রধান শস্য। কাঁঠাল, আম, কলা, আনারস, পেয়ারা, তরমুজ হচ্ছে আমাদের দেশের ফল। আমাদের দেশের অনেক নদীও রয়েছে। প্রধান প্রধান নদীগুলো হচ্ছে পদ্মা, মেঘনা, যমুনা ও কর্ণফুলি। এসব নদীতে হরেক রকমের মাছ আছে। আমাদের অনেক আকর্ষণীয় স্থান রয়েছে। সুন্দরবন, রাঙ্গামাটি ও কক্সবাজার খুবই আকর্ষণীয় স্থান। কক্সবাজার সমুদ্র সৈকত বিশ্বের দীর্ঘতম সমুদ্র সৈকত। বাংলাদেশ একটি শান্তিপূর্ণ দেশ। বিভিন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজন এখানে শান্তিতে বসবাস করে। আমি আমার দেশকে খুব ভালোবাসি।
