Paragraph On A Street Hawker

A street hawker deals in various things by hawking from street to street. He carries his materials on his head sometimes in his hand and sometimes in a small handicraft. He generally buys his goods at a cheaper rate and sells them at a good profit. A street hawker is very cunning. He knows his business very well. His customers are children and women. He brings toys, sweets, and other things for children and sells them at a fixed price at a good rate. He also brings bangles, ribbons, clothing, fruits, utensils, fancy goods, and things of domestic use for women. He speaks in different ways to draw the attention of his customers. A hawker also knows the time/hour of his business. He does not come when the housemasters are at home. Rather he comes when the housemasters are out of home and when the women are free from their household work and duties.

A hawker is a common sight on the streets of the city or a town or in a compartment of a train. He carries things sometimes on his head, in his hands, sometimes in a bag, and sometimes in a small hand cart. He sells various kinds of things including sweets, drinks, books, pens, medicines, and whatnot. He uses various tricks to attract the attention of the buyers. Sometimes he starts singing or even acting. Sometimes he is funny and sometimes irritating. He sells things at a cheaper rate than that of the permanent shopkeepers. It is possible as he has not paid any rent for a shop or salary to the salesman. He is as if a moving shop and a salesman combined. But it is a pity that he has to do such hard labour to live from hand to mouth.
