Agriculture of Bangladesh Short Essay


Write a composition on not more than 250 words about Agriculture of Bangladesh.


Hints: Introduction; Crops; Soil; Improvement; conclusion.



Introduction: Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Ninety percent of our people are cultivators. The prosperity of the country depends on agriculture.


Crops: Our principal crops are jute and paddy. Rice is our staple food and jute is our main cash crop. Other important crops are pulses, oilseeds, sugar-cane, betel-nut, and betel leaf, vegetables are also important products of Bangladesh. These are potato, brinjal, onion, garlic, radish, and pumpkin.


Soil: Our soil is very fertile. But our agricultural output is very low. Our Peasants cannot make two ends meet. They are ill-clad and ill-fed. Because they ate illiterate. They are superstitious too. They do not know how to cultivate their land scientifically.


Improvement: In order to improve our agriculture we must educate our pleasant. We must have Ibtedayee Madrasah for children and Senior Madrasah for the adults. The peasants should be trained in using implements and fertilizers. Collective farming should be introduced.


Conclusion: Government should pay more attention to agriculture. The peasants must be supplied with seeds and manure free of cost. They should be given monetary aid too.
