Tea
Tea is a good drink. It is very popular in Bangladesh. The leaves of tea plants are processed into tea. The tea plant came to Bangladesh from China.
Hilly places are good for tea plants. It grows at places where water does not stand for long. It grows in China, Japan, India, Srilanka, and Bangladesh.
Tea plants grow in big gardens. The gardens are on sloping hilly places. When tea plants are matured leaves and buds are collected from the plants. The collected leaves are processed into tea.
In the garden, the plants are pruned. It may grow seven to eight feet. The plants are pruned at regular intervals. They are not allowed to grow too high. New buds, twigs, and leaves are collected. The crop of leaves was first collected in April. The second crop is collected in June and the third in July. The plants are cut down at ten years of age. The leaves are dried on the floor. The colour of the leaves then changes. It turns copper colour from original green. The tea leaves are carried to a hot air room. The leaves then become dry and fit for making tea.
Tea is a very good drink. It is refreshing. It gives extra energy to work. It is an item for entertainment also. Tea is a cash crop. It earns foreign exchange for our country.
Tea is a very cheap and popular drink. Almost all men are rich or poor. Young or old have tea once or twice a day. It is our cash crop. It brings a large number of money for our country. So we should take care of the better output of tea.
