A Journey by Train
A journey by train is interesting. Last month I made a journey by train from Dhaka to Mymensingh. My friend Habib was with me. We enjoyed the journey very much.
My uncle invited me to visit Mymensingh town. He is a professor at the Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. He resides in the university quarter with his family. During Ramadan vacation. I went to Mymensingh by train. My cousin Sakib was also with me. We went to Kamalapur Railway Station. We bought two tickets and I took seats near the window. After 15 minutes the train began moving. When I got on the train many seats were vacant. Later all the seats were filled by passengers. Hawkers nearby were shouting. The coolies were rushing to and fro.
When the guard blew his whistle, the train began to move slowly. Gradually the speed increased. We were soon out of the city. We were passing through the green countryside. We saw green pastures, ponds, houses, and men. We saw many domestic animals grazing in the field. It was really a great joy for me. We saw so many places on our way. We got down at Mymensingh station. We were received by our uncle there in the evening. We had friendly passengers in our compartment. There were some young people also, one of whom became our friend. While on the journey we passed time talking, and reading books and newspapers. It was a really nice compartment. The journey was enjoyable and educational too.
