Change is the law of the universe. It comes
from the transitoriness and impermanence of the world. There are six seasons in
Bangladesh. One season comes after another. It is an eternal cycle laid down by
nature. Winter is the season of bitter cold, chill, and snow. After the
departure of winter, summer comes to welcome us according to the law of nature.
It is true not only to nature but also true to human life. The condition in
which a man lives, and his thoughts and ideas are changing from age to age. Thus our
mode of living and ideas are different from those of our grandfathers. With the
rapid progress of civilization, this difference is becoming more and more
marked. The changes may be after our liking but as they have been brought about
by time forces, we cannot stop them. We have to accept the new order of things
as inevitable and adapt ourselves to it. This is the reason why there is often
a conflict between the old and the new each regarding the other as unreasonable.

এভাবে আমাদের জীবনধারা ও ধারণাসমূহ আমাদের দাদা-নানাদের জীবনধারা ও ধারণাসমূহ থেকে
আলাদা। সভ্যতার দ্রুত উন্নয়নের সাথে সাথে এই পার্থক্য অধিকতর লক্ষণীয় হচ্ছে। এসব পরিবর্তন
আমাদের পছন্দমতো হতে পারে কিন্তু যেহেতু সময়ের মহাশক্তির দ্বারা এগুলো সৃষ্ট হয়েছে
তাই আমরা এদেরকে থামাতে পারি না। আমাদেরকে সবকিছুর নতুন নিয়মকে অনিবার্য হিসাবে গ্রহণ
করতে হবে এবং এটির সাথে আমাদেরকে খাপ খাওয়াতে হবে। এ কারণে প্রায়ই পুরাতন ও নতুনদের
মধ্যে সংঘর্ষ হয়ে থাকে এবং একে অন্যকে অযৌক্তিক হিসাবে বিবেচনা করে থাকে।
