There are invariably some unforeseen and
unforeseeable forces that govern human life. These forces are inexorable, and
when they lay their cruel hands upon any man to unleash pains and misfortunes,
he can neither forestall nor arrest them. This proverb, therefore, urges people
to bear patiently those pains and misfortunes against which they are powerless.
In fact, it is no use grumbling against these evils that cannot be conquered. It
means a sheer waste of time and a lot of whining, though they do not help
people in any way. Submission to the inevitable with calm and fortitude is a
judicious way in mundane life.

ও অভাবনীয় শক্তি রয়েছে যা মানবজীবনকে পরিচালিত করে। এ শক্তিগুলো অপ্রতিরোধ্য এবং যখন

তখন সে এদেরকে আগাম নিরস্ত কিংবা বাধাগ্রস্ত করতে পারে না। এ প্রবাদটি মানুষকে ঐসব
কষ্ট ও দুর্ভাগ্যসমূহ যার বিপরীতে তারা শক্তিহীন, ধৈর্যের সাথে সহ্য করতে আহ্বান জানায়।
প্রকৃতপক্ষে যেসব অনিষ্টকর শক্তিকে জয় করা যায় না তাদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ করে কোনো লাভ
নেই। এর অর্থ হলো শুধুই সময়ের অপচয় আর প্রচুর ঘ্যান ঘ্যান করা, যদিও সেগুলো মানুষকে
কোনোভাবে সাহায্য করে না। এ পার্থিব জীবনে অনিবার্য শক্তির কাছে শান্তভাবে ও বীরত্বপূর্ণ
সহিষ্ণুতার সাথে আত্মসমর্পণ করাই একটি বিচক্ষণ পন্থা।
