A small rent in a piece of cloth can
quite easily be mended if it is attended to at a time when it is small. But
if the proper moment is allowed to pass away by thinking that the rent is an
insignificant thing, its mending will call for a good deal of labour. As a
result, the rent may become bigger and bigger with the passage of time and
eventually go beyond the scope of repair, with the result that the piece of
cloth turns out unfit for use. Such is the case with all evils. All evils can
be easily removed with a little timely care. But if they are allowed to take
their own course, they will get harder to cope with and may even lead to total
damage. So, one cannot than attending to a problem just when it starts to
develop.
