The online class is a system of education
in which learners can receive education anywhere, anytime by using the Internet.
Online live education programmes run by the own management of educational
institutions can be called online schools. The online education system is a modern
concept. It has revolutionized the conventional method of chalk and board style
of learning given to learners. Almost all the countries of the world are
conducting online education programmes by using media like YouTube,
Facebook, Zoom, etc. Bangladesh also does not lag behind in imparting
education to learners by using the Internet. At present the learners of our
country are getting interested in receiving education through online classes
because of the availability of the Internet. With a new concept “10 Minute School”
online school in Bangladesh started in 2015. This academy has been holding live
classes since 2016. Then, Repto Education Canter, E-shikon, Study Press,
E-school, Educarnival, etc. were set up gradually. On these platforms, both
teachers and students can see and hear one another. The learners can question
their teachers and get answers. As a result, online schools have become very
popular with learners. The learners can be highly benefited from attending
online classes. As they do not need to attend their academic centers, they can
save time and money. They do not need to prepare lecture sheets as they can
save them on their respective computers, smartphones, or profiles. Besides,
they can protect themselves from pollution, accidents, fatal diseases, and
pandemics like COVID-19 if they attend online classes. But there are some
disadvantages to holding online classes. All the learners are not financially
solvent. The poor learners are not capable of purchasing laptops or
smartphones. Besides, it is not possible for them to bear the charge of the internet. So, they may be deprived of the blessings of online education.
Moreover, there are health hazards for online learners. Their eyesight may
be lessened. But nothing is an unmixed blessing. So, we should take effective
measures to make online schools successful.
