Flood from mid–September

03, 2023 – Some areas of the country might experience normal flooding in the
second half of the month of September as average rainfall this season is likely
to go up by 15-25 percent in addition to the rise of water levels in major rivers, according
of Met Office.
The Brahmaputra, the Jamuna, and the
Padma banks however, are expected to face usual flooding, observed weather
experts yesterday at a meeting at the Bangladeshi Meteorological Department.
The expert meeting also forecasted a
couple of depressions on the Bay this month.
In July, the rainfall in Dhaka will be
370-420 millimeters, Chittagong 700-750, Sylhet 560-610, Rajshai 370-420, Khulna
330-380, and Barisal 500-500, the report said, adding that the capital should
experience 16-20 rainy days.
Analyzing the weather data, the report
stated that the country experienced almost normal rainfall last month although the monsoon arrived, 15 days after it was expected.
